The Role

Miller Marriott is a growing land development and design-build company located in Hartland, Wisconsin. The company strives to celebrate the uniqueness of each client and provide personalized value and beauty to each home we build. Miller Marriott lends expertise in real estate, land entitlement, and custom home design at multiple levels, to provide end-to-end solutions for any client. The company hosts a talented team of licensed architects, interior designers, and seasoned construction managers who are unified in creating quality, classically designed homes.

Applicants for this position should have prior experience in project and client management, along with some background in interior design or a related field. Effective coordination with internal departments, including sales, architecture, and construction, is critical to success in this role. The position requires a self-sufficient professional capable of managing multiple clients across various stages of the design and construction process. Strong organizational skills are essential for excelling in this role.

The Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple clients through various stages of the design/build process, creatively supporting clients while providing visibility to timing and budgets, all with the goal of an exceptional client experience
  • Value-added design support for our various types of clients (Classic, Semi-custom, Custom) through curation to coordination with suppliers/vendors
  • Follow the MM Design Process
  • Work as a team with architecture, construction, and client experience
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills – Design planning, design visualization, recording/communicating decisions, manage changes, manage bids/pricing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in setting expectations and maintaining clear and effective communication with clients.
  • Highly efficient in organizing and documenting projects, client interactions, schedules, and project changes.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently within a dynamic and fluid design process.
  • Skilled at navigating changing project scopes, client needs, and evolving industry trends.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively through multiple channels to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Experience presenting design concepts and project updates to clients and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting issues and making timely decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Experienced in preparing and managing budgets, timelines, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with products and materials used in residential design, including an understanding of quality and price points.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the design process, with the ability to follow procedures and deliver proper project outcomes.
  • Skilled in spatial visualization and interpreting architectural plans and construction documents.

Education and Training

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the interior design, architecture, or construction industry.
  • Proven track record of managing design projects from concept to completion.
