Operations Manager
Key Role
Miller Marriott is a growing land development and design-build company located in Hartland, Wisconsin. Miller Marriott lends expertise in real estate, land entitlement, and custom home design at multiple levels, to provide end-to-end solutions for any client. The company hosts a talented team of licensed architects, interior designers, and seasoned construction managers who are unified in creating quality, classically designed homes.
Applicants for this position should have demonstrated operational success and industry related experience. Ideally the preferred candidate would have experience in either a residential construction or a design/build organization, along with experience managing a team of a minimum of 4 direct reports. Tactical and strategic experience and the ability to manage external relationships/client’s communications when needed is also desired in the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operations at Miller Marriott, including problem solving, escalations, performance monitoring, client management, process monitoring, continuous improvement, pricing and scheduling.
- Accountability, management and development of MM Leadership team consisting of the Marketing Leader, Client Experience Leader, Design Leader and Construction Leader.
- Process Owner. Oversee compliance with process, changes, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Responsible for monitoring and counter-measuring process and scorecard performance.
- Lead key company meetings. Ensure project management tracking, reporting, and escalations.
- Support company initiatives, projects, and asset management.
- Job Costing approval and oversight of pricing.
- Sales & Marketing support with lead generation/conversion.
- Design & Construction support. Responsible for maintaining and managing dig schedule goals.
Education and Training
- A minimum of 10 years of proven experience successfully leading people and/or operational leadership.
- Residential design and/or residential construction experience.
- Client-facing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Leadership/Direct Report management experience
- Industry knowledge – land, building, design
- Technical skills – Ability to read architectural plans and construction documents.
- Client management experience – expectation setting and issue resolution experience.
- Decision-making skills.
- Communication skills – Ability to effectively communicate using multiple streams of information.
- Lean process execution experience – Ability to understand the design & construction process.

Lead Architect
The Role
Miller Marriott is a growing land development and design/build company located in Delafield, Wisconsin. The company hosts a talented team of licensed architects, interior designers, and seasoned construction managers unified in creating quality, classically designed homes.
Applicants for this position should have demonstrated success in residential architecture. Ideally, the preferred candidate would have experience leading design projects or working in a design/build organization, managing client relationships, handling multiple clients simultaneously, and setting architectural standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design quality homes for MM clients through MM Design scope/offering.
- Accountability, management, and development of the architectural and drafting team.
- Architectural Process Leader – Represent and support the arch team in the process. Ensure compliance/continuous improvement/enabler.
- Creative Lead for MMC Architecture (floor plans to elevations).
- Focal point for vendor/supplier standard discussions, material changes, and education.
- Responsible for managing MMQB standards for MMC, owner of the SGB Process Enabler.
- Accountable for the timely and quality completion of drafting and CDs to MMC standards.
- Pre-design & construction support. Responsible for maintaining and managing dig schedule goals.
Education and Training
- A minimum of 10 years of successful architectural design experience
- Licensed architect
- Successful client-facing experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Leadership/direct report management experience
- Industry knowledge – home construction methods
- Technical skills – AutoCAD/BIM software/Excel/Acrobat/Microsoft/Planning/Rendering software
- Client management experience – expectation setting and issue resolution experience
- Organizational & prioritization skills
- Communication skills (written & oral) – ability to effectively communicate using multiple streams of information
