The Lonestar
Design Process –
The family needed to turn around design quickly so that they didn’t miss more than one summer with the decision to tear down the family home that had traditionally hosted the entire extended family at one time. Needless to say their design goals started with a home that was lake-living friendly and took full advantage of the views. It was a priority to them to have indoor and outdoor living spaces for hosting. They also leaned into a design where the kids could be located together, sleeping or just hanging out. Bonding as cousins over memories they create growing up and sharing time together at the lake.
With the opportunity to design the perfect lake home from scratch, they elected a more modern and minimalistic design aesthetic both on the exterior and interior. Features such as the unique mid-hinged door, allowing for a more expansive entry, lean into this design concept. They prioritized storage for lake living in both the garage and basement. They would no longer have the storage garage that once sat on the property and needed a solution.
